On Tuesday, November 14, 2017, Father Ptak celebrated mass with the school children on his 30th Anniversary of Ordination. Father shared with the children some pictures of his ordination and his first mass. He also showed them a picture of himself with St. John Paul the Great when the Pope visited Detroit in 1987. Ft. Ptak was privileged to be the Deacon at the mass in Hamtramck and to proclaim the Gospel in Polish.

Father also explained to the children the beatification of Fr. Solanus Casey and how Fr. Solanus had a difficult time in school while studying to be a priest. Father told the children how this simple, humble priest did a very menial job and brought Christ to everyone he encountered. He encouraged the children to pray to Blessed Solanus to help them when they have difficulty in school. The children presented Father Ptak with a few gifts from the school.

The St. Sebastian Chess Club is in full swing, under the direction of Mr. Barry Hawver and Mr. Ron Roose and volunteer parents. The Chess Club is preparing for the Winter Chess Tournament at Divine Child on January 20, 2018.
